1″ Alabama Marble gravel is a decorative landscaping stone that has a brilliant white color, similar to Carrara marble, but is known for its unique vein structure and purity. It is used for pathways, garden borders, and ground cover, and can be purchased in bulk from landscape supply yards. The term “Alabama Marble” refers to the source of the stone, which is mined in Sylacauga, Alabama. 

Characteristics

  • Color: Brilliant white with characteristic veins
  • Size: Approximately 1/2″ to 1″ in diameter
  • Appearance: High-end, professional look that is similar to Carrara marble
  • Source: Mined from large deposits in Sylacauga, Alabama 

Uses

  • Drainage: Helps improve drainage and prevent weeds
  • Coverage: A typical yard of chips can cover approximately 100 square feet at a 2″ depth
